The last few weeks we have been filming for Wicked Tuna Obx. They finally finished filming and we were able to take our first charter of the 2018 season. What a trip it was. One of my oldest charters reappeared and tried their luck at the giant bluefins. What great luck they had. We had only been fishing 20 minutes when lighting struck and we hooked a double header of the beast. The first fish we released in about 30 minutes and would have been a 300 pounder. The second fish came to the boat 3 and a half hours later. Upon seeing the size of the fish I decided to let the group use my giant tag. It was a good decision. This fish tipped the scales at 597 lbs. That would be my biggest Bluefin to date! We fished a couple more hours and captured a couple of yellowfins to take home also. What a Fintastic day
The boats were able to fish one more day before the bad weather set in. Hopefully the boats will return to the fishing grounds Thursday.
I only have a couple more weeks before I haul the boat out for maintenance. If catching a giant Bluefin is on your bucket list give me a call and lets fill that list!
